About GarnetHeartStrings

Garnet is a crystal formed under immense pressure: “The heat and pressure of metamorphism breaks chemical bonds and causes minerals to recrystallize into structures that are stable under the new temperature-pressure environment.” (https://geology.com/minerals/garnet.shtml).

Heart strings are the chordae tendinae (tendinous cords) in the heart – they have a role in its opening and closing as it beats. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chordae_tendineae)

The name Garnet Heartstrings means a heart closed from hardening to the outside world.  I can’t say it any better than Marciah Nehemiah did – “My black heart closed after the cold.  After the promise of opening.”  We all have such experiences and the world has earned our hardness.

Any poems on this site are written by myself, unless indicated otherwise.

Aside from poems, I am interested in health research.  If I find an interesting study while perusing PubMed, it will be posted here.  I sometimes post unconventional or little known health theories as well.

My only fantasy is to be completely self-reliant (I am talking Emerson & Thoreau -inspired self-reliance) and healthy.

You don’t need to know my name because who I am doesn’t matter anyway (and I prefer it that way).
